The La Fortuna area in the northern plains of Costa Rica offers a variety of excellent options to explore nature. In this tour you will enjoy the most active volcano of Costa Rica and its surrounding rainforests in both ways: hiking, relaxing in the Hotspings and by boat on the Río Frío.

Day 1: SAN JOSE/ARENAL

Tour driver waits for you at the entrance of your hotel in San José. The trip to La Fortuna takes about 3.5 hours through a scenic landscape. Check in to your hotel. In the afternoon your guide will pick you up and takes you to National Park Arenal for a hike with astonishing views over the Arenal Volcano and lake Arenal. After this hike you can relax for a couple of hours in the natural hotspings. A delicious dinner here ends this first day of the package.

Day 2: ARENAL

After your breakfast you will be picked up by a bilingual guide for a one and a half drive to the Northern Plains with the frontier village Los Chiles as last stop. After a cup of coffee you will make a 2 hours boat trip on the Río Frío, one of the best places in Costa Rica to spot wildlife. Almost certainly you will see caimans, monkeys, iguanas, riverturtles, and a lot of beautiful birds! After a delicious traditional lunch transportation back to your hotel in La Fortuna is provided. Back in hotel at around 16.00 o´clock.

Day 3 ARENAL/LA FORTUNA

After breakfast you shuttle bus will bring you back to your hotel in San José.
