Developing Countries Helping Each Other

Costa Rica taught farmers in the African republic Benin how to produce organic pineapple. The Himalayan state of Bhutan introduced red rice in Costa Rica.
The originally Dutch initiative, that promoted mutual projects (financied bu the Ducth government) between three developing countries has proven to be succesfull.

This is the reason why this ‘South-South’ cooperation is high on the agenda of the European Union development aid committee. The program is considered effective and innovative and costs considerable less than the tradition way of funding.

The Ecole Travel connected NGO Ecole Experience excecuted different projects in the frame of South-South Cooperation.

Ecole Travel and Fox Vakanties help saving turtles in Costa Rica

In 2011 Ecole Travel together with Dutch wholesaler Fox Vakanties will support the international NGO Sea Turtle Conservancy that runs a renown conservation program for turtles in Tortuguero (north east Costa Rica).
Via this joined initiative tourists (groups as well as individuals) of Fox Vakanties adopt one turtle that is identified by a tag. Through a newsletter published by the Sea Turtle Conservancy the tourist can monitor the paths of ‘their’ turtle during the year. The tourist receives a certificate and information about the program.

For every booking from a client Fox Vakanties adopts one turtle for one year through the program of Sea Turtle Conservancy. With this action Fox Vakanties and Ecole Travel help the endangered marine turtles in Tortuguero (mostly Green Seaturtle and Leatherback) to survive.
